Sorry for the delay

Sorry that I haven't posted anything lately. My mother died on July 4th and I have been busy settling her affairs. I must admit that I've been a little down as a result and not quite up to the task of writing. I hope to be back at it again soon....so thanks for your understanding.

Godfather Obama

Is Obama handing us an offer we can't refuse? Seems like whether we want it or not Godfather Obama is set on forcing us into a socialized health care system similar to Canada and England. Oh yeah, the systems there are working so well their citizens are coming here to get their healthcare problems taken care of! Why? Because we have the best healthcare providers in the world. The Canadian and English system is a mess. So why should we try a system that we already KNOW doesn't work? The only problem with our healthcare system is a government that thinks it has a responsibility to meddle in areas it knows nothing about. What government needs to do is stop interferring with private enterprise and let the marketplace do what it has always done...provide the people with what they want. All you have to do to understand that government can't do anything but screw things up is look at Social Security. Social Security is about to go broke because the government lied to everyone about what they were going to do with the money we've all paid in over the years. They "borrowed" it for other projects and never paid it back. The fund is full of government I.O.U's and not enough new taxpaying workers to keep it afloat. (Unless you count all of those illegal immigrants crossing our border to work in OUR country.....Oh wait....they don't pay Social Security and Federal Income Taxes like the rest of us.....so....never mind!)

Another thing happened this week...some banks that had received bailout money you and I provided them wanted to pay what they owed back to the feds...but the administration wouldn't let them. They made an anouncement that the government had made a profit last month from those loans and they didn't want to be repaid so soon. Not only that, but the illustrious Congressman from Massachussetts, Barney Frank (one of the co-conspirators who created this mortgage crisis along with Senator Chris Dodd, then Senator Barack Obama, and Senator Chuck Schumer - all Democrats, I might add ) has plans for those profits. Rather than putting the profits in the general fund, which would help all taxpayers, he wants to place them in a fund to further "help" all those poor unfortunate "hustlers" who knew they were stealing money out of our pockets but didn't care. There were some realtors in our area who were doing these deals as fast as they could and pocketed big bucks until it all collapsed. I'm sure that happened all over the country as well. Now honest taxpayers will be paying for these swindlers homes AND giving them any profits that our money is earning to further their scam. Keep in mind, many of these homes are homes that you and I, even in good times, might not be able to afford. I think it's about time to get rid of all the crooks in Washington so we'll have a fighting chance to eliminate all the crooks in the private sector. Where is Elliot Ness when you need him? I'm just saying.............

A Thought For Today

I like to think Texans have a lot of what the rest of the United States, and maybe the world for that matter, seems to have lost. Whether it is a quality that you acquire or one that you genetically inherit, I can't say for certain, though I suspect the latter. If it is the latter, we need a larger gene pool!

The quality of which I speak is "common sense". It is a quality that knows no race, gender or geographic boundary. It should also have no political limitations, but that seems to have changed since I was a young man.

It used to be that you could find an even sprinkling of men and women with common sense in both political parties. It used to be that when laws being written in Congress were idiotic, men of common sense in BOTH parties would rise to defeat the bill with a vote against it. At the very least they would have read the bill so they could vote on it honestly. They would do that for the good of the NATION as a whole...NOT the good of their party or a few "special interests" groups with their own agenda.

It's time for all men and women of good "common sense" to stand up and speak their minds against a government that is gradually enslaving them, their children and their children's children to a future of debt and poverty from which they may never recover. Our government, controlled at present by the most Liberal Democrats ever to hold office is slowly strangling the life out of our economy and our future independence. Stand up and fight before freedom is nothing more than dust in the winds of history.
